I started this quilt design by doodling vases and baskets, then this shape came up. Well many a friend has told me it looks like a martini glass! In the spirit of fun, I filled this vase with BIG lollipop shaped flowers and little posies.
The baby rick rack makes a perfect stem and is used to create the swirl in the flowers. I asked a group of friends to help me name this quilt. Betty sent back a Pollylops. The reason? Her daughter couldn't say lollipop as a little girl, she had it flipped to Pollylop, now how cute is THAT!
The quilt is 23" x 29" and very easy to do. If you have never done fusible applique before, I have some tips on my free pattern page (CLICK HERE)
