This is an exciting video for me to share with you today.
As a community we have raised over $235,000 to help the children of Ukraine via Unicef. I shared a quilt pattern that so many of you have sewn for charity by raffling it for funds, giving to people, and hanging in your community.
Being able to deliver my quilt to the Lutheran World Relief (LWR) and having a tour of the operation, priceless! It was so exciting to see this operation in action.
Thank you to Karla Walker of our community, with over 25 years of charity work for LWR, for organizing this.
Many thanks to the LWS staff Janel Johnson-Momanyi, the Senior Manager, Quilt & Kit Ministry, and Martha Piedrasanta Associate, Quilt & Kit Ministry. Most of the tour was given by the amazing Loretta Wolf, Director of Material Resources for the Brethren Service Center (otherwise known as “the New Windsor Warehouse”!) You'll learn this center supports several organizations. We were also joined for the tour by Kathy McLaughlin, Maryrose Spriggs, Barbara Evans and my husband Gregg who did a lot of the filming!
