Book to - Lynda who said "I don’t have any antique quilts but love vintage looking quilts. This book looks like a great start for my first one. I’m always hunting and antique stores for those older finds."
Cookies #1 to - Joyce who said...' My most beloved antique quilt was made by my maternal grandmother for my mother in the late 1920's. It was made from fabric leftover from my mother's first and second grade school dresses. It is an Ohio star pattern and uses muslin for the background. At one point my mother was going to cut it up and give a section to each of het daughters and grand-daughters. I am SO glad she did not do that and especially glad that I have the intact quilt. This quilt was very heavily used throughout my Mom's growing up years. As a side note, my grandmother used one pattern for all of my Mom's school dresses. They tied around the neck and my Mom chewed all of those ties during school. So funny.'
Cookies #2 to - Elizabeth who said... 'I have a couple of quilts made by my maternal grandmother in the early 1900s. Most of her quilts were scrappy utilitarian; however, I have one of hers where she used matching fabrics in 2 different colorways. She inspired and taught my older sister to piece and quilt who then inspired me. Thanks for all you share and inspire.'
Cookies #3 to - Sara who said...'I have 3 “antique” quilts. All made in the 60’s and 70’s. The first one was given to my parents when they got married. Quilts were so plentiful then that dad used it to lay on under cars he worked on. This one has oil spills and holes. The next is a tree of life my Nana made. All hand turned appliqué. The last is a yellow star my Mamaw made it has pillow shams To match. All are precious to me and hang on a quilt rack.'
