Hi Friends! I'm doing pretty good after surgery! I want to share this journey with you. There are so many people that have this done, but not a ton of people share it online as they go through the recovery. I want those of you getting ready to have this done to see what I experienced, and see it as it progress. I hear it heals up fairly quickly, compared to 2 broken wrists this is a breeze!!
- Swollen face, Eye is more than I anticipated. I am tracking how long that takes to go down.
- Not much pain, it has started to lessen. I just take Tylenol. First 2 days were more aches
- Unexpected is swollen lip and inside of my mouth. Just as I was leaving surgery I was feeling that and the surgeon confirmed it can swell. That is why it's hard to smile .. that and the eye... and the swollen nose.. ha!
- Stitches have to be cleaned 3 times a day and ointment kept on it at all times. That does not hurt at all
- For the first 4 days I'm icing my face for 20 min on, 20 min off. I find it is more like 20 min icing, 30 to 40 off.
- I can't blow my nose due to the nose surgery so that is kind of gross and annoying but won't last long.
Starting Monday will be videos filmed new, with my 'Bride of Frankenstein' face.. haha! At some point I will do a video to explain what the process was and what was done.
Do you see those 'dots' on the bridge of my nose? That is where the surgeon was drawing one of the options for fixing this.
And I did a super short Thanksgiving post Watch below
