Have you wanted to take blocks and try out layouts and different fabric colors, but did not want to take the time to learn a robust software just to do that?
You are in luck! Blockbase + is such an exciting software. It lets you choose from 400 blocks to use that are found in the Encyclopedia of Quilt blocks (photo above).
This new software is so easy to use and does not need any other software or the book, it stands alone.
Here is a sample of what the software looks like, really intuitive.
It available for both Windows and Apple operating systems. If you have Electric Quilt (EQ) software it will also work with it, but is designed to work by itself.
The neat part is that after you design it you can easily print a custom pattern of any of the blocks in the book, sweet!
The process
Look through the gallery,
select a block
customize the finished size
print the templates, rotary cutting instructions, foundation paper-piecing patters or SVG files to use for your fabric cutter
Leave me a comment telling me your most 'favorite Quilt' you have ever made!

Blockbase to Lucille who said - I have been making quilts for 50+ years and find it difficult to pick a favorite. "Stars Over Laurel Cottage" made for 2014 Acadian World Congress Celebration is among the favorites. Color palate was red, white, blue, and yellow and the blocks were set on point. Overall it measured 78" x 85" and was quite a great raffle item.
Cross stitch supplies to Ellen who said - My “most favorite” quilt that I have made so far is unfortunately the ONE I don’t have a picture of🤦♀️ It was a paper pieced Storm At Sea with interlocking hearts! All done in purples and aquas. It was a wedding gift for my niece. She had a house fire this past winter and lost everything! I have great memories of making it and presenting it to her. I had made a label on the back about them being strong in their love and being able to weather any “storm” that would come their way. Who knew it would happen so soon for them but they did indeed weather their storm. 💗
Hope, it seems to be a word that keeps coming up, like my back up 'word of the year'. I like Hope and when I read this Article on Hope by Sean of the South https://seandietrich.com/of-hope-and-glitter/ , I knew I had to share it with you. Let me know if you read it and enjoyed it.
Thank you SO MUCH for joining me to keep quilting going by supporting the Virginia Quilt Museum! If you didn't have a chance the other day, you can still support them at the link below, or better yet, become a member!
I LOVE water and boats and sailing themes, so I am jumping in the water with both feet to stitch this up during May with the Fat Quarter shop!! I am getting ALL the things as they are so darn cute!
Starts April 30 and will be each Friday in May. I can not WAIT! It will be my treat to myself to stitch on this mystery each day in May
