***Morrison Park Fabric Tour***
My talented friend Cheryl Brickey of of Mountain Mist Designs starts off my Morrison Park tour showing my fabric in her design, I can't wait to see the whole quilt!
Cheryl is an engineer by day writing patent applications for a textile company and a quilter by night. She currently live in South Carolina with her husband, two children, cat, and crazy Labrador. She really enjoys all aspects of quilting, especially designing quilt patterns and quilt math. Her book is amazing, you'll have to check it out!
We became friends when we managed a business group together for the last few years. It was so great to work with Cheryl and I'm thrilled she can be on my fabric tour.๐
We have 2 prize options depending on where you live. Inside the United states is the fabric on the left, outside United states is my thread box! Each designer on the tour will be giving away these goodies, that is 14 prizes on this tour, so you'll want to visit each one!

***Wrist Update***
Hello my friend! I want to give you an update, I also have this on my video. I'm now 3 1/2 months since I tripped, fell, broke both my wrists, bones in my hands and then had surgery for plates/screws, pins and carpal tunnel... whew!
I'm still doing Occupational Therapy for a few more weeks. Then I think she will release me to continue on my own.
What does that mean? A few weeks ago that sounded very scary to me, my left hand did not seem to be better. My left hand still has lots of movement issues, both wrists still ache, my wrists and fingers are still swollen, and I do not have much strength, but I do see improvement.
Going forward this is what I am told so it's what I'm planning for:
- Continued self therapy on my wrists and fingers to get them moving closer to what they did before. The left hand has more limited movement and the right is doing very well. I am right handed.
- Resting often and not over doing it, as they can't take long hours of use yet.
- This means I'm much slower at getting things done. Which is aggravating, but I'm reluctantly getting used to it.
- Continued strength training.
- I am told at 6 months I will feel like they are moving fairly well with much better strength. If I take that from the time the casts came off I'm looking at the end of January 2021 beginning of February.
- Then another 6 months until I can do all the things.. So let's say August 2021.
This is a LONG HAUL my friend. I had no idea it took this long for joints & tendons to heal and strength to return. This is a crazy long time. One second I had no issues, the next I'm into a year long recovery.
For myself, my wrist work is going to continue to be a major part of what I do every single day. But I'm ready to stop talking about it for awhile. I need to move on from that. So I'll look 'fine' when you see me in photos and on my videos, but I won't actually be healed up. I'm longing to get back to yoga .. but I can't lean on my wrists.. that might be another 9 months. I long to lift up my bin of fabric, but I can't. Gregg has to do that for me. So you get the idea. When I hit 'phase 3' of being released from Occupational Therapy, I'll still have another 8 months of work to do. But I'm ready!
Gregg and I appreciate all the love and support you have given us, it has helped us so much. Big Smooches I love you! ๐งก
