****My August Scrap Busting Sew Along quilt****
It was a Challenge to myself to be able to sew this top in August. I am still pinching myself I did it!
But... I only could do it because of these reasons
- All but 4 stars were already made.
- The squares for the last 4 stars were already cut
- All the 2.5" squares for the 9 patches were already cut, as that is my current scrap system
- My friend Sue cut the sashing strips for me.
I was able to sew, but I was not cleared to cut fabric until a few days ago. And I can not do much finger manipulation either so I could only sew a bit each day. I have to use a tiny travel iron as I can not lift anything over a 1lb, so doing this top was a challenge.
It has been a HUGE accomplishment for me to get it done.. now it will ship to the 'Spa' to be quilted! See my video next

****September Scrap Busting Sew Along****
My friend Wendy Sheppard of Ivory Spring Ivoryspring.com is such a talented designer, author, and quilter!
She designed this spool quilt for Aurifil and I think it's perfect for making in September.
As i say on the video today, I can only cut and sew a bit each day right now. So I have to pick and choose what I will do. I'll be making the Jelly snowflake and sewing a few other things, so I'll do as many spools as I can. I think they are so darling! There is a spot in my studio I show you, but I have another higher up spot it will be perfect in.
Options:
- Do the same size as the pattern (or larger) so you'll make a few more spools than one per day.
- Do One spool a day, 30 spools, and your quilt will be a just a little bit smaller.
- Make a smaller wall hanging
- Make a table runner
- or a pillow!
