*** Drive Down Bonnie Lane House Block 2 Fabric ***
There are so many things about this house that love.
- First is that I live in Virginia and this reminds me so much of the homes here.
- It has fabulous windows you can personalize with unique fabric or embroidery. I love the simplicity of it the way it is.
- When i was a kid, my parents built a new home. It was so exciting to go see it's progress each week until we moved in. The house was white and we called it 'The Big White House'.
Pattern
*** Piecing ***
- Piece the house following the pattern.
- The light post does not have the lantern on it yet as we'll applique that
- On the right side is the clothes line for the quilts

*** Tracing applique and fusing it ***
- LABEL everything! It will really help you keep track
- Cut ON the lines to get the final shape. This is raw edge applique.
- My Favorite Scissors If they are sold out CLICK HERE
- Heat n Bond Lite
*** The Light post ***
- Only press for a FEW SECONDS to warm the adhesive to make the shape stick to the background
- You are not cooking a roast, so you don't want to over heat it and dry it out, then it won't stick.
- I'm blanket stitching with 50wt Aurifil thread

*** Machine Applique ***

*** The stitching close up***
- The Lantern close up.
- You can see that only 3 sides are stitching on the lamp part as the top is covered by the cap
*** What's Next ***
- Next time we'll do either the stars or the quilts!
- If you want to continue to trace and fuse your applique, the car is next!
- NOTE - The Directional Car Images Need reversed for Fusible Applique Barb (the designer) gave all the shapes in the direction of the pattern cover. If you are doing fusible applique, all the directional shapes need reversed so the car is pointed to the right like you see in the photo.
- If you want to start piecing the stars and quilts, go for it!
