it's come to this... True confession time...
UFO (UnFinished Object) Friday
Status:
The last 6 months life has not been at the normal pace for me with loads of things coming up that I didn't plan for. Which have taken time and energy. And Energy and Time.. and did I say energy yet? how about time?
Soooooo For This Week:
- A big fat zero.
- I was not able to work on any UFOs. I might have actually started a new project. Or two (it's a work project)
- I did sew a few blocks on Traffic jam (my free scrap busting quilt pattern).
- And I also mentioned my box of 'Orphan blocks' on my fireside chat. That is them above. It's a FULL box and I'd love to put them all upon my wall to see what they look like. .... but... not today.... not next week either. But I will!
- I'm out of town most of next week again so i doubt much UFOing (is that a word?) will happen.
IN THE SPIRIT of being accountable, at the end share a photo of the UFO you are working on at the end and tell me about your UFO accomplishments in the comments!
I NEED your Thoughts on my plan!
I've worked up a plan for the sew alongs and would love your input. I want to lock in the final dates and publish it with a project page. It's the date part that I need help on. I don't really want to run 2 at a time but I am thinking they need to overlap a bit.
Our Block Wed starts Oct 2 (details here) and I have another fun sew along I'm in for charm packs (info coming soon) and several will be wrapping up in Oct which lets me run these. Back to the dates.

Drive Down Bonnie Lane (above) - Oct 22 to Feb 25
This is the one I'm not sure about starting in October or should I do Nov to March? My thought is some of you will do the patchwork quilt Glow and some of you will do Down Bonnie Lane with the applique and patchwork. (the houses are patchwork). This is fairly light on applique and as you see I'll spread it out.
I don't really want to push it into Nov, I'd rather run it on these dates so you have a wonderful quilt by March. I can see this being given as a wedding gift. For a special anniversary, A Big Birthday. And of course for yourselves, because.. the car!! The Big Houses!! And those super cute quilts!
- Big Stars - Oct 22
- House - Nov 5
- Clothesline- Nov 19
- Small Stars - Dec 3
- Trees and light post- Dec 17
- Catch up time during holidays or I might move the car up a week!
- Car - Jan 7
- Quilts on the line - Jan 21
- 2nd Big house - Feb 4
- Assemble - Feb 18
- Final quilt Show off-- Feb 25
- Drive Down Bonnie Lane, Kit and the pattern if you only want that

Recipe:
This time of year a lot of people love pumpkin, but me, I'm on the hunt for great gingerbread recipes. This snack cake from Smitten Kitchen is divine! I think it reminds me of being a kid when my granny brought back a bakery box of snacks from the farmer's market where she worked. If you have not looked about this website you are in for a real treat. I've followed it for many years.
