Each Friday I do my UFO (un-finished object) status, tell you want I'll work on today, share a recipe I found, some good reads that are suggested for us and some goodies I got!
UFO (UnFinished Object) Friday
Status:
My main goal from last week was to get the rest of the rows on my Splendid Sampler 'Salt water Taffy' version done. Do you like that name? The colors remind me of a beach box of saltwater taffy, but I digress!
I got one row done, then stalled.
So why did I stall? I know why.
I didn't have any more sashing strips cut. And I just never got that piece of white out to cut more. That stopped me. I could have done a lot more if I would have stopped to cut strips. When you are stalled take a minute to focus and figure out why. Do you need to cut more pieces like me? Do you need to FiND stuff? What is it that stopped you from working on your UFO
For This Week:
- Cut sashing strips
- Sew more rows. I have only 4 more to do then assemble them!
- ON SALE SPLENDID Sampler Book 1 and Book 2 (bunny is in book 1)
IN THE SPIRIT of being accountable, at the end share a photo of the UFO you are working on at the end and tell me about your UFO accomplishments in the comments!
Should I??
I mentioned this on my Fireside chat, that the SWELL fabric was back.. and I am SO excited to make a quilt with it. I'm really... really.. REALLY thinking tonight I will cut some blocks for the French Vanilla Quilt. Should I start a new quilt right now? NO.. will I start a new quilt... it's a pretty serious maybe ...So serious that the fabric, book and ruler are on my table and My wall might be clear. Maybe I'll cut it to sew inbetween other things... mmmm.. that might make sense as it's easy.
Have I convinced myself yet? What would you do?
Some days:
.......You just need to wear the cute socks! I have these on today and on the bottom it says "HUGS".. LOVE them!

Books Recommended by YOU!:
- I'm featuring books you recommend each week! If you have read these leave a comment. If you have a book you think we'd love tell me in the comments for next week!
- Carolyn recommended Grandma Gatewood's Walk by Ben Montgomery. She says "It's a biography of the first woman to walk the entire length of the Appalachian Trail and she did it in 1955 at the age of 67!! She was a remarkable woman. The book is not too long and easy to read a bit at a time, though I didn't want to put it down." this one intrigues me!
- Linda shared Thread of Darkness (Queen Bees Quilt Shop book 2) by Sally Goldenbaum. She said "It’s considered a cozy mystery but held my attention to the end."
- And both Kathryn and Jan liked A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman. Kathryn said "Its about a cranky old man who has given up on life, but life keeps pulling him back in and giving him reasons to care. It made me laugh on so many occasions."
- I'd love for you to Recommend a book in the comments below, tell me why you recommend them and I'll start featuring those on UFO Friday
