Our June Aurifil Designer of the Month is the wonderful Annette Plog. If you have not meet her yet, you are in for a treat. And if you like scrappy, you need to start following her!
This is my version of Annette's block. Her block is really scrappy and wonderful! And I love her family tradition that sparked her block, I need a tradition like that! Today I have a family portrait of both my 6 blocks and the Designer's 6 blocks. Plus my thoughts on fabric/color for my blocks.
Remember to make and enter your block at the Aurifil site for a chance to win a box of thread!
Annette wrote this gorgeous book, you really need it

Pat's Tip
- My bundle of starter fabric has peach, navy, green and white. The first couple of blocks I used no white, then I went with lots of white. Next two on 2nd row were also no white, then for June I added back white.
- My blocks do not need to be in month order. I make then than rearrange them at the end. BUT I do start planning my next 6 now for color.
- Do I want more white?
- I could do 1 white block per row.
- or I could do 3 blocks with white and use lots of white in the setting.
- or what about 5 white and 7 peach/navy/green?
- at this point I can safely do July without really deciding.
To be 'Safe' I ordered more of the light fabric I'm using. I only found the bottom one.
Then I hunted around in my fabric . I might have another light with some green and navy to use. I am trying to keep the white print with some color so it will blend with these 2 i used already.
(ps.. that True Blue Olfa mat and rotary cutter are coming out in a few weeks!)
