Let's make TulipFest blocks this week!
But FIRST
I have fallen in LOVE with this quilt from my good friend Sandy of American Jane! My kit arrived, I'm thinking I need to make the flag first.. or...maybe get one of the basket made as a "May Day" basket.. mmm. decisions decisions...
** BUY The pattern or Kit HERE **
I've made my 4 purple tulip blocks. I still think I'll do this one with just the 4, but I could change my mind, we quilters are like that!
This Weeks Assignment
- If you are making the full quilt make the rest of the blocks
- Or finish the table runner blocks
- Or the finish the placemats,
- all from my Celebrate the Season's book!
Pat's Scrappy fabric placement TIP:
When doing a group of tulips with a set of squares, I work this way
- Pick as number of fabrics, 5 or 6, just be sure it's more than what goes across the row
- Then I lay them out 1, 2, 3 ,4..... next row, 5, 6, 1, 2
- Once the tulip is laid out, I then switch around a few blocks so it won't look so uniform. I love it being more random scrappy so you can't see a fabric placement pattern.
And now.. Norm's Tulips!
- Same background as Norm & Nanette, that awesome charcoal. I did order a bit to cover tulip makig
- I'm still going to do all the Norm & Nanette blocks, then remove 1 per row and put a tulip. I had a suggestion to use 5 tulips, I'll see what the 3 looks like and what my timing is.
- The 3 blocks not going in the front, I'll decide if I want a small wall hanging, or to put them on the back.
