When my friend Sheri Cifaldi-Morrill of Whole Circle Studio came up with this amazing English Paper Piecing alphabet papers. She has a blog tour running and asked a variety of people with a variety of skill levels to join her by making a letter.
True Confession: I do English Paper Piecing (EPP) but not much. So I'm on the 'wanna be' end of the spectrum of makers on Sheri's tour.
But I'm always up for a challenge that will teach me something new. I've got the blow by blow to making super fun alphabet for you, are you ready? AND Sheri as a giveaway, link at the end

The first thing I did was enlist the internet to help me select the 2 Trixie fabrics I'd use, as you might guess, in the end I had to decide on my own but there were more votes for 1 & 3.
Next was trying to decide the order I'd stitch in. I've not done a piece like this so Sheri gave me the number sequence she uses. She also has a great guide you can reference.
Using my favorite glue stick I tackled all the curves.
TIP: don't have TOO big a seam allowance, and not TOO small a seam allowance. I feel a bit like Alice In Wonderland
All ready to stitch!

This was fun to do and I learned a lot about the importance of preparing the shapes. Next time I'll be sure that the fabric is really pulled over the edges firmly, that way the size of the shape will be as close to the paper as possible. I had a few that were a little loose so I did some creative stitching to get them to work.
