Block #11 will show off a pretty piece of fabric with Birds in the Air
The Christmas Fig Book is Required
The Red & Green is just like the quilt in the book.
I am doing the tips with Something Blue Fabric as I make a 2nd quilt
TIPS for Making the Blue version
- I used the blue fabrics 'one to one' for what the red/green version is, so it's easy!
- PS..if you want a Red 40th Anniversary Olfa cutter, get it QUICK only a limited amount made
- IMPORTANT - I cut just what is needed. I do not subcut as the book does because my fabric is not an exact substitution for the red/green quilt in the book. I don't want to waste any fabric
TIPS
- use a large square to cut your 9" blocks. Trying to use smaller squares and sliding it along, yes.. I know you do that, is a place to introduce errors. Treat yourself to the right tools for the job.
- THIS IS a great 12.5" square ruler, buy it, your welcome!
TIPS
- Mark your cut shapes to keep track. The alphabitties are perfect as they have numbers and letters to match the book. I keep a package with my fabric for this project.
- use a Design board to keep things in order. You can also pin into it!
Pat's Tips
- Lots of HST to trim
- USE this RULER, I love mine!
