I'm honored to be able to share with you the the new book & DVD about my friend Nancy Zieman written by her amazing husband and business partner Richard.
"Nancy Zieman - A Memoir of Faith, Family, and Friends Blog Tour hosted by the Nancy Zieman Productions the Blog"
At the June baby lock event for Ambassadors, Nancy gave us an overview of her career, which is really incredible. She wrote about it in her book "Seams Unlikely", which you can pick up HERE. Her talk gave me another peek into how she thought and how she built her business.
She told us in June that she meet her husband Richard at work. But more specifically she interviewed with 'Mr. Zieman' for her job and.. guess what... she got the job!
Richard's writes that he wanted to fill in the story that followed her first book and to expand on the Nancy he knew and loved as her husband of 40 years... as Rich writes "I want them to know the rest of Nancy’s story".
He shares not only the many physical roadblocks that Nancy plowed through in her life with incredible grace, but also the innovate things she did for the sewing industry. She is an inspiration and I found the book gave me strength.
There are photos of her projects, milestones of her life, her career, and how her faith helped her though all things.
This is a favorite photo of mine taken at the baby lock Facebook live event for the Destiny II machine in St. Louis Missouri. At the end of a long day we took a photo..I'm on the left, then my friend Teacher, shop owner, tv host Sara Gallegos, baby lock's super talented Production Director Linda Pacini, and Nancy.
I'd interviewed Nancy many times, and chatted with her at events. At this event I was able to spend more time not only getting to know Nancy and Rich (he loves desserts!), but I was able to really watch her work. She was a master behind the camera, and taught me a lot in those several days of practice for the live photo shoot.
One year I interviewed Nancy at the trade show and she was so fun, She told me that maybe she'd have to do podcasts as no makeup was required!

I found what Laurie Gorman, the Executive Producer, Wisconsin Public Television, has a keen observation of Nancy
"Nancy had overcome so many physical challenges in her life, I found it difficult to accept she wouldn’t overcome her last illness as well. Knowing she still had so much she wanted to do, so many plans and ideas to bring to her audience, I know she felt the same about ending ‘Sewing With Nancy’. Even in the midst of her own challenges, Nancy let you know what you meant to her and that you mattered. I’d call that grace. Nancy had a lot of grace. And I miss her dearly."
Rich and the awesome staff at Nancy Zieman Productions has books to giveaway!

I have watched Nancy every Saturday morning for so many years. She feels like a sister who I get to spend time with every weekend. I've learned so much from her about so many aspects of sewing. My granddaughters are benefiting from her several shows on making doll clothes. They love the things I make for them. She's also given me courage to try many other sewing a quilting techniques.
