Fabulous Fabric Series - My Halloween Boden w/videos!

I'm kicking off my new series 'Fabulous Fabric' with Halloween fabric. We all find fabric we love, then we have to figure out a project to make. I love making simple fast projects to showcase a cute bundle, so I can enjoy the fabric in a quilt. 

For my first Fabulous Fabric I selected a Halloween fabric line and bought the following

• A charm Pack
• And a Layer Cake (ps.. if you still have your sew sampler layer cake coupon it expires Oct 5 CLICK to use it!) 
• 1 yd of Green Solid fabric
• 1 yd of Grunge white
• 1 yd of Grey Dots 

Each Thursday in Oct I'll show projects I've made with Halloween fabric. Some are older, some I just made, like the quilt above!

This post is longer as I did some videos and extra photos for making a 'Boden' quilt from my Triangle book. 

Shall we go sew?

First was to decide on the color solid to go with the Halloween fabric

Green, Black, White, some people wanted purple.

I decided on BOTH Green & white

I also knew I was going to use a wider sashing than the book project, read to the end to download the sashing directions.

Using the charm pack and the layercake, I made the HST for my block

The directions are in my Triangle book with clear photos to show you how to do this.

Sashing & Boder sizes

This is a pretty fast quilt to make and so much Fun! Even making 1 block for a wall hanging or table mat will decorate a space. Try 3 for a table runner.  Share your photos below and next week is another project!
