I’m so intrigued by Ashley Nickels quilts, they have this unique painting on them and then she adds a wonderful layer of quilting. When I see pieces like this my curiosity has me typing an invite to the maker to come on the show and tell me about their work. And I'm super excited that she is also a writer and has a love of the story.

All around my studio.. and a bit more

I called it Learn to Quilt because so many people tell me they are just learning or totally brand new.

Charity Sew Along Block #4!

I'm thrilled to again make a Charity quilt to donate this year along with my friends at The Fat Quarter shop and Moda fabrics.

 

This year we are support St. Judes with this project, which does amazing work for children.

There are six big blocks like mine above, and six smaller versions too, all put into an cool setting.

All 4 of my big blocks!  The fabrics I'm using are

• Kate Spain's 'Voyage Fabric' 
• paired it with Bella Bluebell Solid

I am just making the large blocks and I'll create a setting with a border print from the line to be auctioned to support St. Judes! 

I love the videos and the name of this block is Coconut Cross, it's a fun one to do! The Fat Quarter shop quilt is uses both the large and small blocks in a super fun setting and they have a kit which uses my friend April Rosenthal's newest fabric, it's so yummy.

Most importantly, we are benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital with this year’s quilt along. We are asking for a small donation in exchange for downloading each month’s pattern, and together Fat Quarter Shop and Moda will match up to $20,000 of your donation.
