Time to evaluate your UFOs... I really want to be doing this each month, hope to get better at that!
If you are doing 12 UFOs by random number, then it's lucky #7 for you this month!
Each year APQ magazine hosts a Grand Quilt Along and it's incredible fun to see all the variations! Lots of designers and bloggers join in. (Details)
We start NOW by making one of the 3 patterns, the Blue version is nice BIG squares, the red scrappy version, or at their website you can do one logcabin block, just for a 'taste' of it!
- Get the Blue verison pattern In Quilts & More from HERE
- The Red Strippy is in the APQ issue that subscribers get next week, you should find in the stores very soon
Mine is DONE!! (see details on how I started it & fabric used)
I sent my quilt to 'The Spa' in Memphis where I asked Cindy & Dennis to quilt it with an overall but we didn't use any batting.
They have done this several times for me and the reason it works so well is
- I use a cuddle/minky fabric for the backing. It is thick enough fabric I don't need batting. AND the quilt has super drape & is cuddly
- It's also worked super well because of the open design they selected. you don't want anything to dense. This is like a continuous double jump rope!
Backing I purchase is dimpled, but you can get it smooth or with patterns!
Now to decide, do I keep it, or pass it along? It's SO soft and SO cuddly!
