My Favorite day of the month is Aurifil Designer Challenge day! Our theme this year is the rainbow of colors found in the color wheel. Each designer is assigned a color going around the wheel and August is Brenda Ratliff, owner of Pink Castle fabric and great designer!
Brenda's color is ...Yellow/Orange and I LOVE her block made in her fabrics.

It was raining on photo day (let's all say WHAT's with the RAIN in Viriginia in August.. but I digress!)
I decided the family need some blue, and then used the lighter background instead of a gray this time. Which means I have 4 more blocks to put light in now so that it can be placed around the quilt. Since I'm not doing rainbow, I can move the block placement for color. There is a great amount of gold so i left gold out of this one, but I'm sure one of the last 4 will have more gold.
And I think maybe it needs black... everytime I put the black scissors next to the blocks I want to add black.
This year I'm using French General fabric, starting with Pondicherry and adding in more I add that gold from the "Madame Rouge".. it's such a great companion to Pondicherry. .
