Block 4 of my 2017 Mystery Block of the Month is inspired by MY favorite book of ALL time.. a great addition to our 'Children's Library'
Say hello to Alice, Alice in Wonderland. The magical book that transports both children and adults to another place. Fanciful and crazy all rolled into one.
Then come back to share it here and see what I'm doing with the fabric i showed you yesterday.
Fabrics on this FIRST block are from my lines the floral is my Sunday Drive, and I added in others of my lines & Moda lines I have.. so fun to create!
Being a LONG time Alice in Wonderland Fan, I've collected a few Alice fabrics. What i find fascinating is that not matter what year it is, some one new is creating Alice fabric. So of course I got some! Curious Dream, you'll have to hunt for the cream words, but the line is HERE and HERE
Yes I own two copies of Alice, plus a digital version. The navy book is from my husband.

I'm also making a version of this quilt with pink and grey.. splashed in with that gold stripe. I'm really having fun with this fabric. The pineapples get me EVERY time.. I love them! Fin the super darling Pineapple fabric
All four blocks up on the line, the breeze was kicking in just a bit!
Looking at them I'm going to do more grey and light pink in the next one. For every block going forward I review color placement to get a nice balance.
So what about that Alice fabric? Let's see what I have planned, this gives me goosebumps!
I made an Alice block with the Wonderland fabric!
Note that pink used.. this is key.. because this block is going into a very special project.. want to see?
My Alice fabric is going to help me complete this UFO I've had for a VERY long time. I hand appliqued the giant Rabbit, it's from a folk art book by Red Wagon, which is very old and the company is no longer around.
The Rabbit was my starter. My friends send me blocks to go with it. I'm going to pull in pink and navy and gray to bring these blocks FINALLY into a quilt. I'm pretty darn excited about that, I've kept them a LONG time!
