The 2016 Aurifil Block of the Month Quilt layout is HERE!

For 2016 each Aurifil designer used blue and white. Many used their own fabric lines. Some used solids, Most had different shade of 'white' or 'eggshell/off white' Some had only lights in their prints'. My job each year is to set the blocks. I find it a lot of fun to do! These are BIG blocks so I went with a off white frame using Moda Grunge in Vanilla which has some texture. Then a navy frame in my own Sunday Drive Batiks. White sashing to separate the blocks. I've collected and used buttons for years and the club is so fun as I now have such a neat collection of colors! The club each month is one color and has a variety of sizes and shapes. My Favorite day of the month is Aurifil Designer Challenge day! Our theme this year is the rainbow of colors found in the color wheel. Each designer is assigned a color going around the wheel and February is Designer Maureen Cracknell. I got to know Maureen a few years ago and really love her style, her drawings, and her fabric lines. She combines stitching in unexpected ways and I love seeing what is new!
