It's Button club day, and we are sporting plum buttons. I just LOVE them so much!
The club allows you to collect a variety of sizes and shapes. But you can also buy little snack packs that give you a few to add to your stash.
Each Button club pack also comes with a cute red heart! I used one of those on my pineapple block, they are my favs... or maybe the plum heart is my fav... decisions.. decisions....
I find the best way to look through the buttons for the perfect ones to use is by sorting them out on one of my trays. That way none get away.
I have a little BONUS tip for you today. Binding Corners
I do my binding by machine, which means I need to the corners to be very neat and it helps to fold them over and glue them down. That way when I'm stitching they are already perfectly placed and held down.
The Sewline glue pen + wonderclips does the job!
First let's match our Aurifil floss to our buttons.
I'm a HUGE fan of having all the colors... because life is too short to have to deal with not having the RIGHT color.. I'm sure you agree!
I settled on Aurifil Plum #2520 in the end!
My Butterfly is mad with a layer cake of Manderley fabric I love the images and the colors! There is a plum color in the little flowers and accents of this line. Plus Plum looks fantastic with coral. Do you see the teeny tiny rabbit hopping over the top left wing of my butterfly. I worked hard with the layer cake placemenet to keep that!
