ALWAYS at the end of December I'm ready to PLAN for next year! Looking into the future for work project and of course FUN project. Plus I have always LOVED calendars and planners, and quilt themed and focused are THE BEST. I have a little round up of my favorites plus a giveaway at the end.. Let's get to it!
First my three favorite traditional calendars.
- The Quilt Calendar has TWO of my projects in it, I'm was SO EXCITED to find that out. It comes with patterns.
- Stitches to Savor is full of incredible closeups of Sue Spargo's stitching, Beautiful and inspirational
- And the Hexagon a day is SO FUN, with patterns.. oh my.. could you keep up?
The 2017 planner is full of great spaces to plan, document and sketch! Plus it has patterns and beautiful sketches to keep you inspired.
The Desk top calendar on the right has a GREAT quote each month! You could take those pages and frame them for your sewing room.. they are that good!
The Quilt Planner is different as it's NOT a calendar but a project planner. With quotes, places to write what you WANT to do and what You actually finish, and also loads of area to plan your quilts. Cute paper clips, great notepad (which I have on my desk right now) and color pens.. it's really a MUST have in my book!
Ok.. so this is not a calendar OR a planner, but a gorgeous gift set of scissors I just received and I think everyone needs one! The Fanmore company makes amazing scissors, and this boxed set gives you everything trom snips, to tweezers to duckbills for trimming shapes for hand applique! And it comes in this pretty padded box. What I like is the box is FLAT so you can store it flat or on end in your bookcase! Find ALL the Fanmore HERE, including a COOL finger light I need to try next!
I saw the special exhibit of Red and Green quilts in Houston and was THRILLED they have a book of the quilt. I was given one as a gift and decided it was so good I had to buy one to give away!
The book has 50 quilts, plus stories about Christmas that range from sentimental to very funny! All profits benefit the Texas Quilt Museum which was started by cousins Karey Patterson Bresenhan & Nancy O'Bryant Puentes.

Tell me "What is your Favorite Christmas Memory"
The winner is Jan P who shared
"My favorite gift ever was from my future mother-in-law but I didn't know it at the time since I was only 10 or so! We lived across the street from one another from about age 2 on. I opened up this large wrapped gift and inside was a wardrobe that she had constructed containing a very stuffed "closet" of clothes that she had made for my favorite doll at the time. She knitted sweaters, made coats, dresses, pants, tops, slippers, you name it. I thought I was going to just pass out I was so excited to dress my little doll up. What a wonderful gift for a little girl. Lucky me!"
