I've followed Amanda's work for a LONG time. I love what she creates and I love how she shares things that are not always totally quilting, like decorating her lovely home. Each time she shares a photo of her new decorations I want to totally copy her! She also works with Thermoweb like I do, and she did this adorable zippy pouch tutorial for them. It's a great quick project.

Christa and I have become great friends, she is dynamic, full of ideas, and fun ... plus talks about 800 miles a minute.. I like that! When my book was announced Christa sent me the nicest note to congratulate me, that is what my friends are like. Even though they themselves are authors, designers and teachers .. we still celebrate the new things that our friends do. I totally love this about our industry!

Hey mom, now you know where I am today, visiting Nancy!! oh wait.. I wish I really WAS hanging out with Nancy today! I've known Nancy a long time. who hasn't? With her award winning show 'Sewing with Nancy' She has been on my Talk show a few times, and whenever I see her at an event we chat a bit. In September we, along with Sara Gallegos, hosted the Baby lock Destiny II live launch party in St. Louis, what fun! The best part was having more time to visit with Nancy during lunch and dinner. I think you are going to enjoy what they did from my book, they picked up on one of my secret tips to share from my book.

So many people ask me how did I meet 'Aurifil Thread'. Back 'in the day' the Aurifil team was smaller with just Alex and Elena (the president) who people knew. Aurifil as a company has been in business over 30 years in Milan Italy, the Aurifil USA division was started later by Alex and Elena. They wanted to bring quality, low lint, cotton thread to quilt industry. So one day I got a message from a guy, a guy named Alex. He was the brand manager and told me about the company. The he said 'May I send you some of my thread to try?'... I said 'Sure, send me some thread'. Next came a box of over 200 spools of the most beautiful thread I've ever used! I sure am glad I said 'yes' to Alex! Since then I'm proud to be working with Aurifil to have thread kits of my own, and for 6 years, going on 7, hosting the Aurifil Designer of the Month project.
