How about Cake with Two Special Friends on my Birthday? + a free pattern!

Scott is super creative, funny, and makes amazing quilts! He has such a super sense of style to his work. When I went out to the Martingale offices last January, we made plans to meet for breakfast. It was so fun to have time to really visit with a friend and not be rushing to a meeting at the trade show or passing in the hall. You should definitely buy Scott's patterns, they are really fun to do and have that WOW factor!

I got to know Victoria by seeing if she had posted progress on her projects at her blog, I may have checked multiple times a day to see if she updated.. don't tell her! Then she was looking for some fabric with roses and we started to chat, I sent her some and after that we became good friends. I've visited her in NYC, which was so fun! This was long before she had her studio or quilt shop.  Being an artist, her work is award winning and really incredible. She often has a story behind the story in her projects. Now with fabric lines, patterns and Sizzix Dies, you can bring some of Victoria into your project toos!

Today is my birthday and of course that means CAKE!!!  I designed this 6" cake block that you can use in your Splendid Sampler quilt, or create a mug rug around it, or simply a mini quilt and give it as a gift! Here is a Fun fact... November is both My birthday and Jane Davidson's, my Splendid Sampler Partner!

I've been a huge fan of Sherri's work for years, who isn't! She has an amazing sense of color, and you can see that in her Moda fabrics she and her daugher Chelsi design. Her books are full of yummy quilts you want to make and she is another person with a 'to dye for' website name 'A Quilting Life'.. it's perfect! Sherri's Splendid Sampler Story is a tribute to the ladies in her family that gave her a deep appreciatin for quilt making.

I got to know Julie when we both gave talks at the Moda Open house. Now everytime I'm at the show I have to get a 'Julie Hug'!! She gives the BEST hugs ever! She and her husband Frank own the most adorable quilt shop in an old build. .. ok.. i've only seen photos but you KNOW it's cute! Julie is a party maker, if you are doing an event at her store you in for a treat because the fun is never ending! I hear during some clubs she even serves special cookies that are NEVER served any other time.. see.. don't you wish you were there?  Julie's Splendid Sample story is about a memory from her first quilt retreat.

Ebony is such a clever designer and die cut expert! If you ever want to know anything about any kind of die cutting, she is your 'go to' person. She and 'Mr T.' have a lot of details for you.  And she hosts lots of fun things at her website. I am always impressed she keeps up on the lastest and then runs a fun project to go along with it! Her Downton Abbey series of projects were my fav. Dec 18 is Ebony's day on the Spendid Sampler, you will LOVE her block

My publisher is Martingale and I have been over the moon getting to know them. They are an incredible team  of smart, clever and hard worker people.  When I put my best effort into my book, I know that over 30 more people put in their best effort too for books that are worth owning. They are also publishing the Splendid Sampler book and two of the three Editor blocks have been shown. Jennifer tells us about homes, Karen about her button basket,  and we still have one from Beth!
