I asked in my classroom what type of sew along you'd like for Nov & Dec...
You told me Holiday projects, small projects and scrap projects
So to kick this off I'm going to combine 'learning' with a holiday project... are you ready?
I spotted this panel, by my friend Kate Spain, in her North Woods Collection. What I love is that it's ROUND and I have a ROUND dining room table.. plus.. it's adorable and a panel! PERFECT for this sew along.
and there are bonus ornaments with this panel, perfect for my White Christmas tree!
This one is not a quilt, as it's a table topper. But other panels are 40" wide by a length. Which makes a nice baby quilt or wall hanging. You can add border to make it larger. It's a perfect size to practice on

I got a backing for it that is red and white with hearts, which means I can turn this over in January to use right into February!
SCORE for a double sided project!
My big tip for learning to machine quilt is to have panels to work on. they are easy, fun
If you have not ever bought a panel, check out this selection, or this one.. and get a couple to practice with.
And you need my Teach Me to Machine Quilt book. Besides having step by step directions to teach you how to quilt your own quilts, it has loads of cute patterns including my red and white 'Cherry Pie' quilt which is the photo of the quilt on the bed!
Pick a Holiday Panel, a Baby panel, just Get a Panel and My book .... we'll be set to start this sew along!
