Flowers have been a HUGE part of my life and I can almost remember the instance that they became my muse and my inspiration.
When I was in High School I lived in Brussels Belgium. When I'd go to the center of town .... to the Grand Place on the weekends, they would have a large gorgeous market in the plaza.
There is where I first thought about maybe, just maybe, I should buy a flower to grow.
How many 14 year olds think this?
One visit I did it, I bought a small potted begonia, put it on the windowsill in my bedroom and my life changed forever.
Growing flowers, in the house, outside in post, and in the yard ... I'm in love with flowers.
Fast forward to quiltmaking.....
Like many of you, I started as a piecer, but I wanted desperately to put flowers on my quilts.
That is the reason I finally learned to applique and my entire world changed.
Many of my quilts have applique so I can draw garden upon garden of flowers for my quilts!
If you want to learn how to open up the freedom of creating shapes, I can teach you a super easy and successful way to do applique by machine with my Pat Sloan Teach Me to Applique book!.
Now I can look at my block on my Adorable Stand (which is ON SALE!!) until I make the next one, and everything is better when you add a pumpkin.. right?
Won't you join me in my Wild Rose Garden?
