I love the 15th of the month! Angela Walter's is the Aurifil Designer and the month for August. Let's see her Block for our challenge.
I've known Angela a long time and when I saw her block I loved it right away. Angela is a longarm Artist. I think Quilter doesn't describe her work accurately enough. And since her art work needs a fabric canvas, this block is perfect!
Go ahead and DOWNLOAD the pattern at the interview.. but come back!
I decided to keep mine just two colors like she did. But that was a hard decision. WHICH too colors. A 12" block has a lot of space.
I finally went with the print and the white with the tiny navy dot. WOW it turned out great! I can see a whole quilt of these blocks.

The fun part is that the corners can all be sewn exactly the same. Angela didn't fussy place anything.
So neither did it, which makes the block go together so much easier.
A little chain sewing later and I have all 9 units ready to sew together.
I ADORE these design boards. This is the Largest (you can find them all here, get some)
All my blocks! Once agai, my design wall is full of another project.
As soon as it's empty I'll take a group shot of both mine and all the Aurifil blocks.
