What has a crown and is sweet inside? yep.. I made one!

I couldn't help myself... I got out my bins of 2.5" scrap squares..

and found yellow.. and green.. but cut larger ones for HST... and now I have......

My very own Pineapple block!

I pulled out my yellow Button club assortment.. what do you think? do you like that? 

Should I make a mini quilt with this, or go for a full quilt Like Jackie did?

I thought it would be super fun to share how things roll in the land of quilting! I am inspired every day by quilters and their creativity. A few months back I noticed that pineapples were showing up all over the place and low and behold there was also a pineapple quilt that was too cute for words! I of course, want to make it. Because I love to make cute things. BUT I also wanted to chat with the quilter behind ‘that pineapple quilt’ and learn a bit about Jackie Padesky of Pineapple fame!

Donna Desoto is back and I’m so excited! She loves to organize large quilt challenge, and she is very good at it! The first was the tribute to the Beatles and now the 2^nd quilt challenge to honor the 100^th anniversary of the National Parks is out on exhibit and there is a beautiful book to go along with it. Donna’s challenges are clever and well thought out. I will reveal what the 3^rd is and IF I’m participating this time.. on today’s show!

I caught up with my awesome Australian friend Helen Stubbings at the trade show then organized to record  her when she got home. Helen's been very busy doing a online class and Opening a Quilt shop! She and chat about her English Paper Piecing with her applique papers, that i am so in love with I'm going to host a sew along with them pretty soon... Her papers have been me the way to do English Paper Piecing that work for my brain! And she talks us through a tour of her studio! Plus.. her background before designing is pretty interesting.. you'll love it!

In the Studio with Pat see what I'm working on + sew along!

Right now I'm in heavy duty writing mode.. there is some sewing of preplanned things.. but.... my brain needs a break! So what appeared in my mail box.. yes... yes it did....

 

My Sew Sampler box from The Fat Quarter shop..woohoo! INSTANT Creativity arrived in a glorious blue box.. this rivals getting a Blue Tiffany's box.. don't you think?

They provide the best value out there and this one is beyond awesome! One of their new tins (so cute!!) and the Bobbin nest, which says "No more Lost or WILD Bobbins in your studio.. haha! The binder tool (which I've NEVER had.. what??) GREAT clips for hanging your quilts on the wall... and....

I decided to pull out my solids.. i love this green.. next.. decide on a pattern to sew inbetween those other things I'm sewing. I'm going for an easy on that can be done at the start and stop of chain piecing the other 'must do' projects.  

I think i know which pattern I want to do..
