Splendid Sampler™ Block 43 is Mine!
With our project theme as memories of sewing, quilting, community... my block this time is ....
The pincushion! I love them .. new.. old... and I have a fondness for the tomato ones.
When i went to select background for this one I had to put in the pattern print.
I got a layer cake of the Sew & Sew line (ok... i have TWO layer cakes as I got the Frivol kit too!)... I'm using layer cake #1 for My Splendid Sampler. I might need a lot more of the pattern fabric...
Do you think a bolt would be enough?
One of my favorite pincushions is this one.
When I took a quilt group to China, I wanted to buy a pincushion to bring back. This is such a classic, I know they been been made for years as I've seen vintage ones.
Luckily they still made them I have this great sewing memory from the trip! The little faces are so darling and it's very well made.
I want to show you Jane's block. She is making it with French General fabric and I am loving every bit of it!
Here she took a photo of it at her table .. look at the amazing china! Jane love to collect old things. The cup and saucer set in the photo is a Shelley. The spoon is one of a set of early 1900's apostle spoons, jug is depression glass sauce pourer.
I'm so lucky to have Jane as a friend!
Now A Question! When I was looking for the perfect beads for the pin heads, I found this sweet heart button.
Should I put it here... Option 1?
Or add a button on the strawberry?
Or no added button?
