My Step-mom and I actually started that trip by going to a sunflower farm.. what an AWESOME place!
This is one of my all time favorite flowers!
I want to create this display at home.. so spectacular!... now i need a waterning can, and a bench... and jars of jelly...
It was a spur of the moment idea to do this trip and we had such fun. It had been years since I'd been to the plantation, and last time it was in November so the gardens were done for the season.
Being August last year there were not as many flowers but it was lush and green

After a few twists and turns.. we found this pond!
And I LOVED the Kitchen garden.
I tried to imagine what it was like when the plantation was bustling with people
