Pat Sloan: The zoom mode, and how I deal with it...

The last week or so have been a 'must focus and get it done' time.  I have to get into ZOOM mode... And sometimes my brain is done and moved on..but.. oh wait.. the project isn't done! So what do I do? 

I am a list maker (read about it HERE) so

• I made a list of the things that had to be done ... NOW.. yesterday was preferred. That list
• I put that group into priority
• THEN i focused so I can zoom them to completion.

I find lately that a killer to completion is fractured time.  What does that mean?

You do a bit on this project.

Then a bit on that project.

Off to another

Loop on back to project 1.. 

And nothing...

Is completed. 

So my time the next few weeks is hyper focused on completions.  

Can you relate? 

The good news is that it works, when I stay focused!   

 

And sometimes when I'm on that project I am doing some mindless sewing, I have my tablet up on my computer tuned into something I can listen you (maybe you listen to my talk show!)   and I find that when I am doing the sewing my mind starts to work on the next projects.

Pat Sloan: Super fun round up with a deal and a freebie!

Geezzz.. today I had one of 'those days' were even the most simple of things goes haywire!  I had a text document.. that blinked.. 

Yes.. Blinked.... the entire document

Blinked

Like a flashing light at a railroad crossing.. 

We finally got most of the blinking to stop.. except the bullet points.. which half blink...

What is THAT all about?  Sent to the person saying 'please excuse the blinking bullet points... sigh......  

And there was more boring work stuff that didn't go smooth... or fast... or smooth AND fast.. either would have been good.  So let me show you some fun stuff that arrived instead.. thank goodness fabric makes me so darn happy!!

Right now I need a new one in my purse because I spilled stuff on the other (don't ask how that happened IN my purse.. but it did.... )

I can see using the Pie Ruler in the box to make dresdens with this!

I don't own a lot of antiques.... so when I purchase one, it's because I fell head over heels in love with it. This quilt of baby baskets is soft and sweet. It was loved, you can just feel it when you hold it.

The pattern to make this quilt is in the same issue.. yes.. I'm in the issue TWICE!!!  SO excited about that. 

When the editors asked if they could mail back the quilt I said yes, but they also need to mail me the RED chair.. right? Don't you think I need that?  They said they are not sure it would fit in my mail box. I assured them it would.. wink!

For some reason I don't think the chair is shipping... just a hunch. 

I took the basket blocks and set four together for a pillow! It is made with some of my Moda fabrics. I went digging into my stash and found this great stripe I hidden there.

Stephanie Capps Dyke runs a website called Creative + Mindful, which is pretty amazing. She is a quilter and is making our Splendid Sampler quilt, yeah! She wrote me about something I'd said in my Newsletter. I said 'we MAKE time for what we really want to do'.
