Splendid Sampler™ Block 30 is designed by my good friend Amy Ellis, and it's exactly Amy's style! Simple with options.
As I make my blocks, I think about the designers story.
Do I have a similar one, or does their story take me on another path?
Amy said about her block " I’m a big fan of quilts and quilt blocks that look more complicated than they actually are. Taking beautiful pieces of fabric and sewing them together in a way that creates movement and depth within a quilt is always rewarding. Having a secondary design element is even more rewarding! My favorite way to create - chain piecing! I love to be able to sew and sew without breaking my thread, and look to create patterns that are best done by chain piecing."
I do believe that as makers, we love to produce.
And what better .... and faster way to get blocks done than to sit at our wonderful machine and push little squares of fabric under the needle creating a lovely banner of fluttering pieces. My Babylock Crescendo is just perfect at it!
So my block is dedicated to that zone, that rhythm we get into as we chain piece, unit after unit.. after unit..
It's really heaven on earth.
