Block 5 of our Charity project 'Crossroads' is the beautiful Friendship block, my favorite theme!
The 5th block is called 'Intersection'. The Theme this year, Crossroads, is a reflective. I love that about a project. Where each month i take a moment to think about thing.
Listen to Joanna, who designed the quilt, talk with Kimberly Jolly of the Fat Quarter shop about what Instersections have happened in her life that changed the course of what she did.
Then the 2nd half of the video they show you how you can make the block .
I want to share an important intersection for me, unlike Joanna and her husband meeting... my husband lived across the street from my grandparents. His mother worked with my grandmother. BUT... Gregg had taken a job in another state, and it was finished so he had returned back home.. JUST as I was getting ready to go to college. So if those two points in time had been different. We would not have meet, or dated.
Later in life I made choices.. take this job over that job. Do this project instead of that project. Buy this home.. or that home... all are intersections that take me down one path instead of another
I'd love to hear about an intersection in your life!
I am making a full size quilt to auction for the charity with the fabrics above... it's really looking amazing so far!
Am I'm also making a few blocks with my Hometown Girl and the Moda Linen. I want to make a wallhanging size for myself as a memory for this year.
This year the charity we are supporting is the March of Dimes foundation and we will be raising funds to help their efforts to fight premature births. We hope you will sew along and donate to this amazing cause through our fundraising link:
