We are getting down to the end of the 2015 Designer interviews and each project is amazing, as are the lovely designers I have the pleasure of interviewing! This month is Art Gallery designer, and online design instructor Bonnie Christine. If you are reading in your email notice, click the banner to see my full article!
Her Mini is inspired by where she lives and it's amazing and beautiful! What a pretty forest this is.
Because i'm working to put all the mini's into one quilt, I decided to do just one tree for my mini. This is really a wonderful way to fill in a tiny space!
This is how I auditioned for the tree. I put them on an angle just like Bonnie's.
When i went to stitch, I used a neutral Aurifil 50 wt. this is an up close of the straight stitch I used
Bonnie's quilt was done the same way, then when she quilted it she did straight lines over the whole mini.
If you were just doing this as a decorative piece, you could fuse and let the quilting lines hold it down.
All together now! Just one more addition then I'll work on the setting pieces. I'm almost tempted to applique the blocks to a background. I wonder if that would work?
