I'm starting a new feature called 'Tool Talk, Pat tells all!'. I'll be sharing tools I use all the time. On the right sidebar is Pat's tool Talk, so you can go to all of them!
One thing I do that not everyone does, is my binding by machine. I converted to this for 2 reasons
1- I timed how long it took me to do binding by hand, wow.. oh.. wow was that long!
2- The ONLY thing I'm repairing on the quilts I travel with is, my binding. there had to be a better way.
Binding by machine is it!
There are a few tools that make it MUCH better. The 'Awl' or 'Stilleto' helps hold the binding down as I stitch. Let me show you
I'm using
- a shade of Aurifil 50 wt thread that matches my binding fabric.
- Clover binder clips to hold this section down as I come to it
- A little dot of basting glue from Roxanne's or Sewline glue pen holds tacks that binding where I want it
(links below to everything I use).
I am binding my new quilt 'Letters From Home' made with my Moda fabric Hometown Girl. The fabric will be in stores in Feb, ask your favorite shop to order it!
A peek!!! I am sure excited about my newest line with Moda. Both Cotton and Batiks!
