I thought I'd share a bit about what the Quilting trade show is like for a designer. We are there to share our newest products and designs with shop owners, teachers, and to meet with the industry people we do business with. Unlike a shop who is there to buy for their store, we are there to talk about our own work.
There are 2 days of booth set up, as some booths are very large. Mine.. not so much.. ha!
On the 2nd day of set up there are a lot of presentations, called Schoolhouses. I was booked for THREE and that means.. my space looked like this until they were all done.
Each presentation was about 25 min or so, and then I had about 40 min to wait until the next one.
First I talked about my fabric line Hometown Girl, the 3 new patterns and my Aurifil Thread collection. I collected names and 2 shops won layer cakes of my new fabric!
Next was my talk about my new book! I gave tips on how to use my book to teach classes, I talked about the photos inside showing the step by step directions and the super cool Triangle reference sheet!
This is my second in my teaching series.
At the end we....drum roll.. gave way books!
And at the end of the day I was lucky enough to be part of a FUN Beauty Pageant to celebrate our Moda All Stars book "All in a Row"!
um..... you can see we did have a little bit of a dress code for this one!
The fantastic CEO of Martingale, Jennifer Keltner, did the honors of introducing each of us as we 'Walked the Runway' to celebrate our 'sashing row'.
First up is Sandy Klob, then the fantastic bombshell you see is fabric designer Sandy Gervais!
I twirled in next! I brought my own flowers, incase I won.. wink!
LOOK at all the cameras!!
Now you'll have to wait for the Fat Quarter shops video.. i will let you know when it's live, they filmed the whole pageant, it was fabulous!

It was quite late when we finished the show. So the Shipping Department and I had to set up my whole booth, then head to our hotel to check in! I decided to opt out of the evening events this year as I'd twisted my foot and needed to put some ice on it.. we had not even started day one yet!
One more shot for this article.. here I am at the Aurifil booth. The did a whole new setup which is fantastic! They even brought a RED Vespa for me.. do you like it?
Here is a post by Aurifil, and another HERE
And there are a TON of booth photos from my friends at Fabric Depot, see them HERE
