The Second block in our year long journey of Farmer's Market quilt making is the carrots! I am already mixing it up for you, the carrots are featured in my main quilt and as a banner/table runner in my book!
There is something about a carrot that makes me happy. How amazing we are able to eat a vegetable that is orange.. a happy color for sure!
This might get best photo layout award in my book. This almost makes me want to GROW carrots... haha! ALMOST.. is a key word isn't it?
I am going to start us out with dessert first.. because.. why not!
When I decided years ago that I really DID like cake, I didn't go for anything simple, no I decided that I mostly love Carrot cake with really good cream cheese frosting. This was my preferred birthday cake for years.
I think cupcake versions of our favorites are a great way to have a little bite. I found this cupcake version at Pinch of Yum that I love, print it off HERE
Over the years I've had many of my fabrics in Orange, here are just a few of them! These are from my Moda lines (find my fabrics at your favorite shop, ask them to order them for you!)
This month I have a BONUS stitchery for you! Carrots.. wheee!!!!
I'm using my 12 wt orange Aurifil thread. I love that it's soft, on a spool and you don't have to separate it! It's what I used for my REDWORK Book, do you like to do embroidery?
I teach you how in my Redwork book!
You can get a 12 wt Kit to try the colors
I put my Carrots on a t-towel!! fun fun right?
