The Other night I got out my Birthday Quilt top and blocks for the back. This is very exciting to be able to see the quilt come together! Let's take a look, i have a bunch of photos. If you are reading in your email NOTICE (which you can sign up for HERE).. click to my site to see all the photos.
This is the top so far. It's about 110" wide x 87" long. My buddies Cindy and Dennis told me I can make it a bit longer and that still works for them to quilt it for me
YEAH! I have still have a bunch of blocks.
This is how I work, i love to be organized.
Honestly I've not always been like this. I have NO CLUE when this happened, but here I am, Miss Tidy pile herself.
As i work on sections it's often easier to bring them over to my Babylock machines to work through how to trim and sew.
Some blocks I add sashing around, like the saying. It reads
Don't Count your life by Candles
Don't Count your life by Year
Count instead by memories and times of happy tear
These are some of the blocks for the back. The upper section was sewn last time I worked on the quilt.
Next I start putting up blocks so I can move them around.
The next arrangement after I've sewn more sections together and framed more blocks.
Like the cat in the lower left, and the onpoint block on the middle right.
This is getting to the point where I will need to do some inset seams. I'm ok with that, but there is no pattern so I'm working block by block to fit it together.
Since I can add more to the front of the quilt, this row will be sewn with strips to the bottom of the front.
