I spent a lovely week with 70 quilters, their spouses and friends teaching on Royal Caribbean's Allure of the Seas, the largest cruise ship in the world!
Let's take a look at my week at sea
The ship is like a little city, although I must say my FB page has WAY more quilters on it than this ship had.. wink!
Please note... there is the ONLY full Starbucks at sea on this ship.. yummy!
The day we boarded we had to set up all the tables and 70 sewing machines.
The machines were cleaned and we sewed on them to be sure all was in working order. There were about 10 of us working to make this happen with Stitchin Heaven Travel's expert co-ordination!
This is one of the 3 classrooms. The other 2 instructors were Sherri Hisey and Sue Carmichael. There was a 4th room for the quilt shop and lectures.
Each quilter was assigned a machine, and they stayed with it the whole week. Many came as groups and they got to sit with each other, awesome right?
Some more views of that classroom.
Most of the people purchased kits so they could just SEW like the wind!
Every night the ship had multiple shows going on.
This is the Diving show, which was spectacular! The ship was actually sailing during the show.. think about that! All the divers are very experienced, including at least one Olympian!
Every night we walked around the ship where we had a chance to enjoy music, food, and taking a break.
And the quilters could sew all night if they liked, the room is never closed.
as in... NEVER! One told me she started sewing at 5:30am!
Don't you love how organized this quilter is?
Do you get this organized when sewing blocks?
Another version of my stitched on a charcoal grey, the pastels really popped!
This quilter came with a rainbow of colors and then set it on black.
And my 'Stitched' project with my fabric, which is what most people were making.
Some had decided in advance to make larger version, my pattern has many sizes and is PERFECT for busting 2.5" scraps!
This Cruise was with Stitchin Heaven Travel, I highly recommend them!
You can make my Stitched Quilt too - Buy the Digital or have me mail you one by Buying it at my Store!
I'm curious
