It was such fun to have you help me select the borders for my 'Smore's' quilt!
Ta-Da! In the end I selected an option that was a bit different than from where I started. Let me tell you about it.
I cut long strips the width of the samples.
I put them up, took a photo.
I didn't like them.. at all.
Nothing was clicking.
So i just took other fabrics and started to audition them. When i put up the yellow on the outside i knew I'd found the combo. The dark fabric will be the binding!
When i was all done, i took all the fun fabric and pieced the backing. I LOVE doing this, it's such a great way to take those prints that you might never use in another project, and keep them with the ones they were intended for.
Here is the stack, all ready for me to baste! I'm going to do circle quilting like the class on walking foot quilting I reviewed.
And the winner of my Layercake And Aurifil Thread is Carolyn G who said "The stripes. I feel stripes add movement to a quilt and always catch my eye." I emailed Carolyn so I can send her this awesome prize!
