The other night I started cleaning up from months of projects for books, for patterns, other things that just got stacked and stored in my studio. I unearthed a box of blocks that were never completed from a sew along called Sugar Block Club with the adorable Amy Gibson.
I love the blocks as they started by having this super fun charm pack of fabric. Everything about this line is happy and I wanted to use it in a quilt. I even bought lots of yardage to go with it!
Here are the blocks I found. I decided there was no better time than that night to create 2 more blocks and set this into a TOP..Let the UFO BUSTING began!
I pulled out the fabric, selected 2 more blocks to make and decide to get it done.
This fabric makes me smile, i really don't know what it is about little campers and vintage cars, but they are pure happiness, don't you think?
So how could I use this fabric? I have 1/2 a yard of it and then it occurred to me....
The border!!! If i cut strips of campers they can go all around the border. So let's see how this looks in real life, because sometimes what's in our head doesn't come out in fabric the same way.
Did you notice my corners? I had these from a block I didn't use them in and they will be perfect to help me stretch that green dot, it's all I have and I'm not buying more!
Here is where you help.
Which inner border?
This is my January giveaway... a layer cake of my batik fabric 'One for you, One for me' plus a spool of yummy Aurifil thread!
Which inner border do you pick?
1- The 60 degree triangles
2- Dark circles (which i have very little of)
