The blocks are looking great. I need to collect some more fabrics to get started. :) I have 2 of the dark blues already and some of the other fabric. Need to fill in more fabrics. then I will get sewing.

All are so pretty.

Directions are a little confusing with the two options of cutting using flying geese or half triangles. Hopefully, I don't make this mistake again and then not have enough fabric, since I had to recut some pieces.

Cheryl brock

I'm getting my fabric prepared for cutting

I'll be working on my block this week! I'm excited!

Sherry Carr

My sister and I work together and quilt together. We are yin and yang as far as how we quilt. What fabrics we chose and how close to perfection is close enough. I am blessed to have her in my corner and that she opened her quilting room up to me. For this BOM, I got all excited and could not wait to start. I drug her across the state line to just the perfect quilt shop for me to select my fabric. Vicky was not going to do it, because randomness is just not her. She must plan and think and know exactly her block is on her quilt, how it's all going to go, with her perfect color choices all neatly labeled and bagged. I on the other hand Your block is on her quilt. I love the concept of picking out what I like and lets wing it and pray for the best. Well...upon arrival to our destination, I walked around waiting for a color or theme to reach out and grab me. Then I hear, "Sherry, come here!" She had found the most beautiful line based on a quilter theme. Long story short be both bought the line. We are using different components so they will be alike, but very different. Hers is posted above in Pat's Blog. We both are loving this adventure! Thank you very much spat Sloan for giving this to us. ❤️

I will get my block done Saturday?

Pat, I love the challenges and the surprises in your BOMs. The Globetrotting quilt was so much fun to do. I did it in patriotic fabric and gave it to my cousin's husband who is 95 years old and a former marine. They loved it! I love the idea of Vacation Time. I would so dearly love to go with you on your quilting cruise!
I have my pieces cut out for block one, On the Boardwalk, and hope to get the block done today.
Thank you for your wonderful ideas and guidance. I still listen to your podcasts and have saved every one of them. They have been so helpful.

I am loving it. Cant wait til next month. Your direction fir the flying geese was awesome.I have made two block for two different quilts. Matter of fact my grand daughter made me use her material to make her one and to make a quilt for her just with that block. She is only 3. She is precious so her and i are going to work on a twin quilt just for her. She was so excited.

I am still looking for the scatter dots cream fabric to start my quilt. I ca't find it ANY WHERE! HELP! I want to use all the same fabric that you are using.

Having grown up in Miami,Fl and lived there for over 40 years, the beach isn't my ideal "vacation".I now live in TN and chose more earthy colors to represent a cabin vacation. I can't wait to see where this leads. Thanks for the opportunity!

Pat. Just read the best tip by Sherry Brotherton. Try sewing your block on paper first. Draw in the 1/4" seam allowance. This will show you where you need to place your needle to get 1/4" seam. Remember take the thread out. . Last line was mine. Practice. Once your not worried about sewing the rest will be a lot easier.

Jeanne Frey

Adjust sewing tip. Do not sew with thread until your comfortable.

Jeanne Frey

Lost first part of sewing tip. Draw your pattern on paper first including seam allowance. Sew without thread. This will show where you set your needle on 1/4" seam. Thanks Sherry Brotherton for tip on using paper first to test pattern.

Will any of the monthly blocks contain applique?

Beth Carnley

I will be making a different BOM for Christmas gifts this year! What a fun way to get a early start!
