I am not one to sew complicated things late at night. .... after about 10pm it better be pretty darn easy because I don't want to make a design decision or do anything with great accuracy. Thus was born the following project.
My series called 'Scrap Happy Quilts' is ongoing (prior free patterns HERE).
Earlier this year I went on 'THAT QUEST' to cut up my scraps.. i don't keep a lot of scraps so it was fairly quick going until I came to the messy fabric that needed ironing. let's just say those are still waiting.
I did cut up the scraps and over this year I've sewn a 2.5" square to a another .. and another .. and another.
Last night i got out the blocks.. low and behold, there are 35 of them!
All 12.5" x 12.5" of glorious scrappy colors in lights with splashes of green, pink, aqua, grey and more.
I did a little math.. and good gosh.. is my ironing board cover in need of a cleaning! you get to see it all here don't you?
I had to put my auxillery design 'wall' into action and lay out some of the blocks side by side.
i about fainted I love it so much!
So the question is, do I add a sashing and a corner? or do I make a ton more and set them side by side for a bed quilt? The 2.5" scraps seem to be endless, so i can make about 800 of these.. give or take a few.
