And we are on Day 8 of my 12 Days of Giveaways!! The last giveaway will be right before Christmas.. and I may have a lucky #13 on New Years Eve.. so stay tuned!
For my podcast I am lucky to work with a lot of different book publishers. The Fat Quarter shop has published several books and today they are Sponsoring this giveaway of Lori Holt books!
The top booklet is about Granny Squares. I am a self taught crocheter and the Granny Square is what got me started!
The bottom book is Lori's quilt along. Let's take a look!
The Team at the Fat Quarter shop has developed a wonderful style for the books. The Great Granny Squared shows several ways to make this block. Including one called using the leftovers!
Personally this is a very nostalgic quilt for me, I want to make one to celebrate my great grand-mother and great aunt who made many Granny Square afghans!
The other book is a Row by Row Sampler. Here you can see how adorable the direction pages are! Plus you are given bonus quilts using the blocks in the rows.
If you can't wait to find out if you won a copy, you can buy them at my Amazon link
I have FOUR sets of these books to give away!
All you have to do is leave a comment telling me
Do you own an old sewing machine and do you use it?

The Winners are!
Marie C who wrote - My Mom gave her White sewing machine (that I had learned to sew on and made much of my clothes during the 60's) to my sister as I had a sewing machine, a 1971 Singer. However it finally bit the dust in 1999, so my oldest machine now is a Janome Home 1999. I do put it to good use at Quilt Retreats and Bee gatherings.
Terri E who wrote - I own two older sewing machines. The first one is a Singer that my husband purchased for me on our first anniversary, 39 years ago. We opened a "Young Moderns" account at our local J.C. Penney and I think we paid $10 a month until it was paid off. That was a lot of money to us in 1975 and I used that machine faithfully for about 20 years. I still bring her out once in awhile for small projects and to clean and oil her. The second machine was my Grandmothers. She and my Great Aunt gave up their treadle machines for a more modern machine in the late 60's. I wish I'd been old enough to convince them to keep the treadles but I was too young to understand that I'd want them later in my life.
Deb F who wrote - a wonderful lady gave me her featherweight that her husband had given her when they married 65 years ago.. I use and treasure it
Joan B who wrote - I wish I had my grandmothers treadle singer machine...I learned to sew on it. However I have a Janome horizon that I love!
There are still giveaways open to enter.
