I meet Kim in a TOTAL Whirlwind! It was the trade show, I was chatting with some people and Kim came flying over to say hello and I mean FLYING! She was whirling and she had on the most amazing skirt made of fabric I had collected ... this of course made us BFF's forever! She lives near me .. sort of.. but we just see each other at shows. ha! I chat with Kim almost every day and she is just the most beautiful soul in the universe. She makes everyone feel special.

Hi everyone, my name is Kim Niedzwiecki or Go-Go Kim, which is much easier to say and spell. I blog at My Go-Go Life and am so happy to be asked by Pat to share my favorite quilt.
I have only been sewing for about seven years and quilting for the last five. The reason I started sewing was for my youngest son. My favorite quilt is the one I made for him. It is his favorite too! Full of fussy cuts of Heather Ross that I had been collecting over the years. It has fun bright colors from Denyse Schmidt and Amy Butler to frame the fun centers. I made a very simple tutorial for the wonky blocks. They were super easy and fast!
It was also one of first sew alongs I was ever a member. Sara from Sew Sweetness started a small group of us on Facebook in 2011 and we all did it together. It was fun to sew something with a group of like minded people.
The quilting was straight lines and very simple since I was ( and am still) new to quilting I did not want to mess up the top. I also wanted to keep it soft and squishy for lots of loving from little hands.
I love the pieced back with the brights and the very dark brown. I forget how much I adore brown until I use it and then fall in love all over again!
This quilt has traveled half way across the country in more than one direction ( was left in the Air Force lodge in Dayton and they kindly returned it back to its owner) , has been there for sadness, illness and general comfort. It is the epitome of why most of us quilt, to create something that gives love to its owner. It is my very favorite quilt and Adam's too.
Kim Niedzwiecki is also the Media and Guild Coordinator, Aurifil, USA, so you see we work well together! Visit her at http://gogokim.blogspot.com/
