I want to show you how to 'remix' an applique pattern by taking just part of it and use it somewhere else. Because sometimes we don't want to make the whole thing. Or we sometimes we super love a section of it and think it would be great used another way! Let me show you how to Remix my "Pop!" pattern.
Here is Pop! as the full 28" x 38" Wall Hanging, which is really not that big, so it's a perfect project to do when you are learning to applique, or want some instant gratification! Pop! is also PERFECT to remix as it has several different size blocks. CLICK HERE to buy Pop!
Let's look at the bottom row.
What about using just that ONE flower on something else? Like a Mug rug!
You can see I actually USE this one every day as in the lower left ... see there.. where it says 'Be Neat'... yep.. real life people.. i give you REAL LIFE.. this is WHY we have a mug run.. wink!
Mine is 7.5" x 12" Applique the flower, quilt some lines, bind it and done! Or you can do a pillow method of turning with no binding.. simple!
What if you wanted it as a square... I can see them as coaster or.. pincushions! Maybe put as the pocket on a purse or a mini pillow.
Or take that bottom row as is for a tablerunner or smaller wall hanging. When my friend Jamie Fingal showed me her first line of fabric I about had a kitten... she loves lollipop flowers too!! So her fabric is perfect for this project.
The center is cut 8" x 17.5". Inner borders are cut 1.5" wide and outer 3.5" wide.
