I had lunch with my friend the other day and she was telling me how much fun she was having sewing in the evenings after work. She just finished a big project that she had designed. All applique and all very personal for the people she was giving it to.
It was a lot of work. And a lot of concentration. She could only work on it during the weekends as after a long day at work her brain just couldn't make decisions on what to do next. But now she was working on another quilt.
She is having fun each night just pushing fabric under that needle...
I call that Mindless sewing.
We all need it.
We need to create without having to make decisions.
If we have a great fabric, a great simple pattern .. and pre-cut all our work, then we can get Right to the business of sewing!
Oh the Joy! Isn't it the BEST feeling to just have some fabric to push through the machine?
I'm working on a project like that right now.
My easy peasy summer breezy mindless sewing. I'm get units ready so that I can just sit and create JOY at the machine!
How do you work?
Do you like to have some mindless sewing to do between the quilts that need a lot of decisions? I'd love to know!
