I was honored to be invited to a breakfast to celebrate Olfa's 35the Anniversary!
35 years since the rotary cutter was invented!
I decided that we need a giveaway so that I can spread the love of the Olfa cutter, it is the brand I personally use and love!
The breakfast was held in a beautiful old hotel downtown. All the tables were set with these celebration totes filled with goodies.
Do you see the adorable rotary cutter pin, it's the best!
All the tables were set in Olfa Yellow. The flower arrangements were stunning!
But were not just there for the food (although it was a GREAT breakfast)...
Matt McDonnell leads the Olfa USA office and he personally greeted
each of us as we arrived.
He gave a short talk about the start of the Olfa company and his told us about his recent visit to the main office and manufacturing plants in Japan.
Do you see what he is holding? Its the original pro-type! Let's get a closer look...
The main office in Japan sent the original pro-type cutter here for the party.
Look at how rough the pro-type was, but also what fascinated me.. is that you can see where the design went from that rough beginning!
The team went through all their archives to collect the history
of Olfa Products, so cool to see!
These floral cutters were out for just a short period of time
I have the orange floral one... did you get any of these?
Here is the US team Matt McDonnell, Heidi Severson, Robin Letourneau, and Leah Lawson. Leah has been the company's graphic designer for years. She told me it was so fun to look for all the different products!
Here are a few more pieces
I belive that aqua cutter is my current favorite. If you want one you should buy it now as they won't be around forever!
Amazon has some ---> 45mm Splash Rotary Cutter
Now for the Celebration!
I'm giving away this ENTIRE package to one lucky quilter
It could be YOU!

WINNER is Janice P. who said "I got my first Olfa rotary cutter about 30 -35 years ago at the Sewing Expo in Monroeville, PA near Pittsburgh, Pa. I had attended a demo by Palmer and Pletch of how quickly you could make a sweatshirt jacket with the Olfa rotary cutter and mat and a serger. I was blown away at the speed and went to an ATM machine and went and purchased my first Olfa rotary cutter and mat. I never turned back and got a serger within a couple of months of that show. I did alterations and sewing in my home for 30 some years. I am now a quilter and teach quilt classes and have many Olfa cutters. I would like to see a lime green cutter so I could find it at the bottom of my "everything bag" I carry with me. I would love to win the prize package. Janice in PA"
