I am as excited as you are on the first of each month to share the next city in Globetrotting!
Visiting other countries, especially ones that are very far away, is not something I have a chance to do often. Seeing Australia one day is a goal, and Sydney will be my first stop!
Over the years I've had the chance to get to know quite a few Australian quiltmakers. For some reason I have a huge love of their work and really hope to visit them someday.
When I was making this block I asked my buddy Jane to send me a mug, and with it came a flag and a pen! I'm SO EXCITED!
This is my NEW favorite pen to use.... I'm feeling very 'down under' using it.
I love how the coloration in the two blocks makes them look SO different. My Red/Grey version creates an interesting second image. I wondered what they would look like side by side? Well why don't I just do that!
I took the block created a 3 x 3 setting with no sashing. Fun! Each month someone has taken my block, created a bunch of them and a made a quilt, that is SO COOL to see. If you have done that send me a photo. I think my Sydney block is perfect to do in a repeate, without sashing or with!
Each month I am excited to think about and expolore a new city with you.
